St George Hotel is a ground-floor refurbishment of a community pub that has traded on the same Belmore corner since 1893. Trescon rebuilt the gaming bar, food preparation area, entry foyer, and amenities, and gave the rear car park entry a new elevation of gold diamond-shaped cladding, all while the venue stayed open to its locals.

Key Features:

  • A 132-year-old community pub (established 1893) given a ground-floor reset
  • New gold diamond-shaped facade cladding to the rear car park entry, lit after dark by uplighting
  • Gaming bar, food preparation area, entry foyer, and amenities rebuilt
  • Live-venue fitout: the pub kept trading throughout construction
  • Designed by Fabric Architecture Studio, a Central Coast hospitality practice
  • Second Trescon engagement on the building, following 2022 remedial water-damage repairs
  • Project management by Projectus PM, acoustic engineering by Renzo Tonin & Associates
  • 618 Canterbury Road, Belmore (DA-635/2024)

The constraint that shaped this job was the venue itself. The St George is somebody's local, so the refurbishment was sequenced around an operating pub: protecting public areas, working trades into live hours, and keeping a path open for patrons while the gaming bar, food preparation area, entry foyer, and toilets were rebuilt behind hoarding.

Trescon already knew the building. In 2022, the Trescon Remedial team repaired water damage on the same site, so the 2026 main works were a second chapter rather than a first visit. That history counts on a structure this old, where what sits behind a wall is rarely what the drawings predict.

The signature result faces the rear. Gold diamond-shaped cladding wraps the car park entry, the side most patrons actually arrive through, lifted after dark by uplighting that marks the way in. The ground-floor scheme was designed by Fabric Architecture Studio, a Central Coast practice with a deep hospitality portfolio, with project management by Projectus PM and acoustic engineering by Renzo Tonin & Associates.

The St George reopened as the same community pub it had always been, sharper at the ground floor and with a new face on the car park approach.
