Some buildings occupy a corner. Double Bay Sail owns one.
Positioned at one of Double Bay village's most prominent intersections, this five-level, 1,050sqm commercial building was always intended to be more than a workplace for Ray White's flagship Eastern Suburbs office. It was designed to be a landmark, and it reads as one.
The architectural concept, led by Stafford Architecture, draws its language from the harbour just beyond. The building's defining feature is a brick façade shaped by a rhythm of convex and concave curves, evoking the billowing forms of yacht sails caught in wind. What appears effortless from the street demanded extraordinary precision in delivery. The geometry of each curve, held to tight tolerances with premium finishes, required meticulous coordination across design consultants, structural engineers and specialist trades throughout construction.
Interiors by Richards Stanisich translate that same rigour inward. In situ terrazzo floors, a marble reception counter and carefully considered sensory details create an environment that feels as considered as it looks. One that merges workplace, hospitality and brand experience without compromise. Landscaped terraces on each level open to district views, and premium end-of-trip facilities throughout reinforce a building conceived for people who expect more from where they work.
Developed by ESP Commercial, Double Bay Sail is the product of close collaboration between client, consultant team and construction partners from early planning through to handover. The result sets a new benchmark for design-led commercial development in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs.
